Tulsa Fire rescued two boys from underneath a bridge over Mingo Creek just off Highway 169 Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were conducting swift water rescue training two miles away when they got the call about the two brothers trapped on top of a concrete block in the middle of the creek near 21st Street.

Fire officials say water in the ditch was only about knee-deep but the water was moving rather fast.

Fire officials say the younger brother was rescued by his older brother after falling into the creek.  Both had climbed onto the concrete block until firefighters arrived.

EMSA paramedics checked out the two brothers, but did take them to the hospital.

Fire officials said no one should attempt to wade in the creek after a rainstorm, because the water current is about 18 miles per hour.
