Severe Weather Threat Elevated Across Oklahoma

The risk of severe weather is now high across western Oklahoma and that risk is expected to shift eastward Wednesday evening.

The National Weather Service has placed much of western Oklahoma under a tornado watch until 10 p.m. Cities in the watch area include Lawton, Anadarko, Alva, Altus, Elk City and Woodward.

News On 6 meteorologist Alan Crone says the threat of storms capable of producing hail, damaging winds and tornadoes will remain west of I-35 until evening, when the threat will move east.

Crone expects severe weather to impact the Tulsa area between 7 p.m. and midnight.

On Thursday afternoon and evening, Crone says eastern Oklahoma will again see another round of severe weather.
