A registered sex offender in Broken Arrow was arrested Thursday morning, accused of another sex crime, this time against a child.
A 14-year-old girl told police she was on here way to Oliver Middle School Thursday morning when she was attacked.
Police say they caught the suspect fast and it turns out he lives about 1,000 feet from the school.
Neighbors say they know Peter Nolan, and more importantly, they say they know of his past.
"By having him down the street, I don't let my kids come out by themselves," said Joy Walker.
Walker said she checked the online sex offender registry to find out who was living on her block. She found Nolan was convicted of sexually assaulting a 21-year-old woman in 2007. He served three years of a five-year sentence, then moved back to his parents' house in the Wolf Creek neighborhood.

Nolan is a level three registered sex offender, which means there's a high risk of him re-offending.
And Thursday, police say he did just that, by groping a 14-year-old girl in a park, then asking her to perform a sex act.
She managed to break free and run to her school, just blocks away. Wolf Creek Elementary and Oliver Middle School are nearby. And just around the corner, only three doors down, is where Nolan lives with his mother.
It's illegal for sex offenders to live within 2,000 feet of schools, day caress, parks and playgrounds.
Nolan's house is about 500 feet from the elementary school and just a few blocks from the park, where he's accused of assaulting the teenage girl.
Police say a loophole to the law makes that perfectly legal.
"From the information I was given, he would have been grandfathered in before the laws changed, as far as being a certain distance from a school or park," said Corporal Leon Calhoun, of the Broken Arrow Police Department.
Parents, who are raising their families in the neighborhood, say that policy is not acceptable.
"I don't understand it. A sex offender's a sex offender, and they should not be anywhere near a school, park or anything that children are involved with," Walker said. "I want him gone, that's it. I don't want him back."
Because Nolan is a level three sex offender, he has to check in with officers every three months. Police say he's been in compliance with that rule.
As for the young girl, police say she is doing okay.
