Tulsa Woman Hit By Bullet Fired Through Her Apartment Window

A gunshot fired through an apartment window sent a Tulsa woman to the hospital early Thursday.

Tulsa Police say the shooting occurred at the Western Pines apartments near West 23rd Street and Highway 75.

Police got a call at about midnight about shots fired. Witnesses told police they saw a man running through the complex firing a handgun into a car and an apartment. 

A woman and her brother were inside that apartment when bullets came through a window.

"We have conflicting statements as to how many rounds were fired, anywhere from five to fifteen," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Gary Ottersdrom.

Police say one bullet struck the woman in the leg. EMSA took the woman to the hospital and police say she is expected to be okay.  

Officers say the brother was not injured.

Tulsa Police are looking for the gunman. He is described as a black male, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
