Tulsa Couple Accused Of Abuse After Baby Found With Severe Burns, Bruises

A couple accused of abusing a 6-month-old baby boy was booked into the Tulsa County jail early Tuesday morning.

Police say, after spending the weekend with his father, 21-year-old Anthonie Cotton, the baby ended up with severe burns on his genitals, legs, waist and backside and bruises on his back and legs.

They say Cotton's girlfriend, 18-year-old Terraisia Barnes, took pictures of the injuries and sent them to her mother, who told her to take the child to the doctor immediately.

But, instead, they say she later dressed him to cover the injuries and dropped him off at his guardian's house.

Cotton is being held on a complaint of child abuse after a prior felony conviction. Court records show he was previously convicted on possession of a firearm after prior convictions and second degree burglary. Barnes is being held on suspicion of child abuse or neglect.
