A middle school principal acquitted of manslaughter last month has submitted his resignation after being reinstated by the Jay Public School board late Thursday.

The board met in executive session for 2-and-a-half hours, then voted to reinstate Roger Carroll, 39, effective April 12th.

After the vote, the school board's attorney announced Carroll had submitted his resignation effective June 30, 2013.

The school board will meet again April 19th to consider the resignation.

The school board suspended Carroll after he was charged in December 2012 stemming from a deadly boating incident on Grand Lake in July 2012.
