An organization that provides high school students with free access to higher education celebrated a milestone Thursday.

It was the fifth anniversary of Tulsa Achieves.

TCC President Thomas McKeon said he's proud of the program's graduation rate, and the impact students have had on the community though their volunteer work.

"For many of them, its the first time they've ever worked or volunteered outside of the home, so it can be a very moving experience for them," McKeon said.

Since the program's start in 2007, students in the program have completed over a quarter-million volunteer hours in Tulsa County.
