The Broken Arrow Fire Department rang in the addition of a new life-saving piece of equipment Monday.
It was part of the traditional ringing-in ceremony for the department's new fire truck. The Spartan ERV Engine comes with a slew of new upgrades, including some cool new technology.
"We actually have a tethered controller. The pump operator, still standing on the ground at the pump panel, can put the pump deck canon into action and control every aspect of that deck gun with that hand controller," said James Annas.
The 1,000-gallon pumper also has back-up cameras, a tighter turning radius, and other upgrades that firefighters say will help them do their job and keep you safe.
