A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday to mark the one-year anniversary of the Good Friday 2012 shootings in north Tulsa.

Three Tulsans -- Bobby Clark, 54; Dannaer Fields, 49; and William Terrell Allen, 31-- died from single gunshot wounds to the chest on April 6. Two others -- Deon Lawayne Tucker, 44, and David Wayne Hall, 46 -- were shot but survived. The shootings happened at four different locations.

Tulsans Jacob England, 20, and Alvin Watts, 33, remain jailed as they await their trials for murder and hate crimes. The district attorney's office said it will pursue the death penalty for both men.

Prosecutors said England and Watts drove around north Tulsa looking for random black people to kill.

After one of the survivors gave a very vague description of the attackers as white men in a white pickup and a citywide task force was instituted to find the killers. Less than 24 hours after the bodies were found, England and Watts were arrested.

To remember the victims, Warren Blakney, minister of the North Peoria Church of Christ, coordinated a community program called Still We Rise. It will take place on Saturday at the Greater Union Baptist Church, 955 East 36th Street North, from 3:45-6 p.m.

In a news release, Blakney said the public is invited, and there will be speakers, music, refreshments and a candlelight vigil.
