On March 1, 1969, Oklahoma's Own Mickey Mantle announced he was retiring from baseball.
Now, 44 years later, his two sons announced they're helping to develop a Broadway play about his life.
"The Commerce Comet" is considered one of the best to ever play the game. He was a hero to an entire generation, but he was also known to be an alcoholic and a womanizer.
Mantle's sons say they just want people to see him through their eyes.
They're working with an award-winning writer and producer to bring that vision to Broadway.
