Copper thieves hit a south Tulsa neighborhood, stealing the copper top of the sign at the entrance.
Resident Kevin Wheeler said the copper top disappeared from the Woodhill entrance sign, on 91st Street, between Yale and Sheridan, last Thursday. He said the copper piece was probably 50 lbs.
Wheeler said, earlier this year, a neighbor had a $15,000 bronze taken from a front entry, and didn't recover it until the thieves had already tried to cut it into pieces.
The residents filed a report with police and they've sent pictures to a few recyclers, so they know to call police if the copper top turns up.
