A Tulsa school that works with special needs children is putting out a call for volunteers.

The Little Light House is looking for 170 people to volunteer in classrooms this coming semester.

The goal is to have one volunteer for every child at the school.

The Little Lighthouse teaches special needs kids from birth to 6 years old.

TU student Amanda Barbosa said volunteering has changed her life.

"You see kids that couldn't walk, you see them take their first steps, you see them jump, when they are told they couldn't jump," she said. "I really enjoy it and I think everyone would enjoy it, too."

The school is holding a volunteer training session on January 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
