New Year's Day is traditionally when we make new personal goals get better, fitter or smarter in the year ahead.
For a lot of people, it's just talk, but dozens of people took real steps to better themselves by participating in a "Commitment Day" 5K run Tuesday.
Many of the runners participated in an eight-week program to get ready for the race and this was day one in their new commitment to something better.
Tulsa's wasn't the only Commitment Day Run.
Thousands of people at Life Time Fitness centers across the U.S. ran in similar 5K races.
