A Wagoner County man will go to prison for burning his son with a meth lab while riding a bicycle.

At his preliminary hearing on December 18, 2012, Stanley Wayne Price pleaded guilty to one count of child neglect. Prosecutors dropped a count of child endangerment in exchange for his guilty plea.

The incident came to light on October 21, 2012 when deputies were called to the emergency room at Wagoner Community Hospital. They found a 5-year-old boy with serious burns to his face.

Witnesses told deputies that Rice was carrying the boy on the handlebars of a bicycle next to what's called a shake and bake meth lab, when liquid sprayed onto the boy.

A judge sentence Rice to six and a half years in prison. Sheriff Bob Colbert says he would obviously like a longer term, but is satisfied with the sentence.
