Oral Roberts University senior Jaci Bigham was named Southland Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The weekly honor is the fifth of Bigham's stellar career and her first in the Southland Conference.
Bigham scored 17 points and added 11 assists in ORU's 96-34 victory over Evangel on Dec. 5. The McAlester native chipped in a career-best seven steals and notched her fifth career double-double in the victory.
Through five weeks of play, Bigham leads the SLC and ranks 2nd nationally in assists, averaging 7.5 helpers per game.
Bigham is a four-time Summit League Player of the Week, last winning a weekly honor on Nov. 30, 2010.
ORU has now captured three of the league's five Player of the Week honors in 2012-13, with senior Kevi Luper winning the award on Nov. 12 and Dec. 3.
Bigham and the Golden Eagles (3-3) face third-ranked Baylor on Wednesday night. Tipoff between ORU and the defending national champions is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT, and television coverage is available on Fox Sports Southwest Plus.
