Phase one of a massive undertaking is now complete.
The Muscogee Creek Nation opened the doors to its new restaurant Thursday.
It's called Stoneblade. It's in the old Okmulgee Country Club the tribe bought back in May.
Chief George Tiger said there are a lot of plans for the property.
But there was a time not too long ago, when Native Americans wouldn't have even been allowed there.
"I was one of those people that wasn't allowed to even be in this building," Tiger said. "And to be able to be in a leadership role, if you will, of the people that own it now, it means a lot to me personally. But it even means a lot more to the people that I serve."
Tiger said, beyond the golf course and country club, there is a lot of acreage.
He said the tribe is still considering how to best use that land.
