Former ORU Basketball Coach Ken Trickey Dies

Ken Trickey, a two-time former coach for Oral Robert's men's basketball team, has died at the age of 79 years old.

Ken Trickey, a two-time former coach for the Oral Roberts University men's basketball team, has died at the age of 79, News on 6's John Holcomb confirms.

Trickey was the head ORU basketball coach from 1969 to 1974 and again from 1987 to 1993. He also had a stint at Oklahoma City University from 1979 to 1981 and also served as coach at Rogers State University and Oklahoma Junior College. According to the ORU website, while at ORU Trickey won a school-record 214 games during 11 seasons as head coach.

Trickey's biography on his website says he started a private basketball training program in Tulsa following his retirement.

He was inducted into the ORU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009.
