Two Green Country military families who've lost a parent to war headed off on a special holiday adventure Friday.

The American Airline's Snowball Express picked them up at Tulsa International Airport.

They'll meet up with hundreds of other families in Dallas for a weekend full of activities, from a tree lighting ceremony and visit to Six Flags, to a private concert by Gary Sinise and the Lieutenant Dan Band.

And the special treatment started before they even took off from Tulsa. They were greeted at their gate by Santa and one of his elves, who served them some pre-flight treats.

This is the seventh year for the Snowball Express.

It's all free for the families.
