Tulsa Bakeries Bustle On Day Before Thanksgiving

Lots of folks are doing some last minutes Thanksgiving shopping Wednesday.

Black Friday may be grabbing most of the attention right now, but some area businesses are still trying to keep up with the demand for Thanksgiving trimmings.

People at Merritt's Bakery in Tulsa have been working around the clock, stockpiling pies for the big day.

"We don't ever run out of pies. Every now and again we will run out of someone's favorite. We bake all night long, we're still baking pumpkin pies right now, as we stand," said owner Bobbie Merritt.

Merritt said Wednesday afternoon they had more than 2,000 pies, and nearly 400 dozen rolls ready for the dinner table.

Merritt said, although some people use the option of calling ahead, many don't know what they want until they walk through the door.
