A Ripley man is dead in a single-vehicle wreck troopers say was caused by driving under the influence of alcohol. It happened just after 3 a.m. November 2 on County Road 68 about a mile north of Ripley in Payne County.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say Erick Hall was westbound on the county road when his 1994 Chevrolet pickup left the road and hit an embankment. The truck rolled a quarter time coming to rest on the passenger side.

The 34-year-old Hall was partially ejected from the vehicle on the passenger side. He died at the scene of the crash.

The investigating trooper said Hall, who was not wearing a seat belt, had been drinking. Perkins Fire Department worked the wreck.
