Over a hundred Tulsa students got out of the classroom, and spent their Friday serving others.

A group from Mingo Valley Christian School volunteered at the Community Food Bank.

But, overall, 150 of them were in other places around Tulsa serving the community for the school's annual Serve-a-thon.

They say once the day is through, they'll have done 1,000 hours of service.

"We believe that we really should instill servant hearts at our school, and we follow what Christ said. He came not to be served, but to serve," said student Nicholas Bieser.

Other students volunteered at John 3:16, New Life Ranch, and the Gatesway Foundation.
