The Oologah Lake Area Bass Club is holding a tournament Saturday, October 27, on Grand Lake to raise awareness about ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

The disease causes nerve cells to waste away or die, eventually leading to muscle weakening and the inability to move arms, legs and body.

The tournament is called Fishin' for TJ (the TJ Wilson Benefit for ALS.), and is named after TJ Wilson, an avid fisherman who has ALS.

The tournament benefits ALS Patient Services Outreach, which is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to provide non medical services to ALS patients and their families.
