Alcohol use may have played a role in the death of a Wilburton man early Monday morning.

Christopher Holiday died after wrecking an Arctic Cat 400 ATV at 2 a.m. in Latimer County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the 41-year-old Holiday was southbound on Pleasant Hill Road near Cravens Road when his ATV ran off the road. The Arctic Cat struck an embankment, and Holiday was thrown about 15 feet.

He died at the scene of massive injuries. The trooper said there was an odor of alcohol on the driver, and the cause of the crash is listed as driving under the influence.
