The Tulsa women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Colorado College on Friday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. TU fell to 5-4-2 on the season and 0-2-1 in Conference USA, while the Tigers moved to 7-2-3 overall and 2-1 in the league.
"It is what we expected in terms of the toughness of the game," Head Coach Kyle Cussen said. "Colorado College is always a tough team and one of the top teams in our conference. I was really proud of our effort tonight. We have had some injuries and had to change some things, but we felt like the girls did a great job of committing to what we were working on and they played their hearts out tonight. That is what is disappointing is that we laid it all on the line, but we were unfortunate at times even though our effort was there."
Hannah Peterson scored the lone goal of the contest at the 60:09 mark as she punched in a goal from 18 yards out off a forward pass from Jessie Ayers.
Claire Hulcer led the Golden Hurricane with three shots, while Raven Tatum, Jordan O'Brien and Bradi Hinch each had two attempts. Hayley Harryman logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up six saves.
The Tigers had a narrow 12-11 lead in shots, a 7-6 advantage in shots on goal and had a 7-1 lead in corner kicks.
Tulsa will return to action on Sunday, Sept. 30th against UTEP. Game time is set for 2:00 pm at the Hurricane Stadium.
