TU Women Fall To Rice

Rice scored off a rebound in the sixth minute, which proved to be enough for a victory against Tulsa on Friday night.

The Tulsa women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Rice on Friday night at Rice Soccer Stadium in Houston. With the loss, TU fell to 5-3-1 on the season and 0-1 in Conference USA, while the Owls moved to 4-4-2 overall and 1-0 in league play.

Rice's Holly Hargreaves scored the lone goal of the contest when she controlled a rebound and punched it in at the 5:47 mark in the first half.

Claire Hulcer had two shots in the contest, while Camille Pelley, Stephanie Aitken, Lexis Learmonth and Katy Riojas all had one attempt for the Golden Hurricane. Katie Bykowski logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up 10 saves.

Rice had a dominating 23-6 lead in shots, including all 11 shots on goal.

Tulsa will return to the pitch Sept. 23 against Houston at 1:00 p.m. in Houston.
