The Tulsa Drillers earned their second straight win with a 6-3 victory against Northwest Arkansas on Sunday night.
The Drillers scored the game's first five runs, starting off with a second-inning two-run homer from Tim Torres over the right field wall for an early 2-0 advantage.
The Drillers made it 3-0 when rehabbing Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki reached on a throwing error to allow Chris Pettit to score. After the Naturals managed made a visit to the mound, Tulsa's Kiel Roling reached on a force attempt, throwing error by NW Arkansas third baseman Yowill Espinal, allowing Michael Mitchell to score for a 4-0 lead in the third inning.
Tulsa struck again in the sixth inning when Pettit hit an RBI sacrifice fly to center to score Torres.
NW Arkansas finally got on the board in the top of the seventh when Carlo Testa hit a solo home run off of Tulsa starter Joe Gardner, who allowed just three hits and one run while striking out seven batters in seven innings.
Tulsa scored again in the bottom of the eighth when Pettit singles on a line drive to center field, scoring Torres for a 6-1 lead.
The Naturals tacked on two runs in the top of the ninth off of Drillers' reliever Josh Sullivan but Joe Torres came in to record the save.
The two teams close out their four-game series on Monday at 7:05 p.m. at ONEOK Field.
