Some of Oklahoma's Own are getting kids equipped to start the new school year right.
John 3:16 Mission held its 25th annual back-to-school festival Saturday.
Kids celebrated the last days of summer vacation with a cookout and games.
Families also picked out new and gently used clothing and school uniforms.
"They're so very grateful that we were able to help them at this time trying to prepare for school," Rev. Steve Whitaker said. "Of course new clothes for the kids always helps with self esteem."
Whitaker said since many area schools switched to uniforms, families have had a tougher time meeting the demand.
