The sheriff's office said in a news release that a witness called authorities after seeing a man running out of an evacuated home about 1 p.m. The office said the witness followed the suspect until a deputy arrived and stopped the suspect's vehicle.
Deputies say Jesse Johnson admitted taking a flat screen television from the home and that the homeowner later told authorities that no one had permission to take anything from the house.
Johnson was arrested on complaints of second-degree burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Homes in the Luther area were ordered evacuated Friday because of a wildfire that was raging in the area.
