One Oklahoma rural water district can no longer rely on voluntary restrictions.

Mandatory rationing is effective immediately in Okmulgee County Rural Water District 6.

That means no lawn sprinklers, outside watering with a hose or car washing.

You can only water outside by filling up a container.

Violators face fines up to $500.

Repeat offenders will have their meter pulled, the district said in a release.
