According to the Muskogee Phoenix, prosecutors claim that Fowler shot the man intentionally because of a gang dispute. District Attorney Larry Moore said in opening statements Thursday that mall security footage will prove the shooting was intentional.

But defense attorneys say Fowler opened fire in self-defense because he feared for his life.
