A new contract for McAlester firefighters is expected to be signed Tuesday evening.
Voters approved a retroactive deal for the firefighters two weeks ago.
The contract takes care of last fiscal year.
The city manager says the $187,000 to pay for the contract is coming out of what's left over from the last year's city budget.
The city and firefighters' union is currently negotiating a contract for this coming fiscal year.
