Fire officials believe a lightning strike is to blame for a fire in Tulsa home Friday morning.
Tulsa Fire was dispatched to the 7000 block of East 89th Street. Firefighters found a smoldering fire in the home's attic.
The homeowner, Michael Vowels, says his family heard a loud boom at about 5:30 a.m. then smelled something burning. After getting his family outside, he called 911.
Firefighters say the attic sustained most of the fire damage, while the rest of the home suffered water damage.
Vowels says he's an insurance agent and is used to helping his clients through similar situations, but now has to deal with it personally.
