A 37-year-old Tulsa man is dead after he accidentally shot himself in the chest early Tuesday, according to Tulsa Police.

Police got a call just before 2 a.m. about an incident at a home near Quanah and Admiral.  Officers found Robert Selsor with a gunshot wound to the chest.

EMSA paramedics treated Selsor before transporting him to the hospital. He died later at the hospital.

Tulsa Police say the initial call was that the shooting was self-inflicted.

"The initial indication or report was that it was an accidental gunshot wound to the chest. It was not intentional the victim accidentally shot himself in the chest," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Thaddeus Espy.

Police questioned a friend who was with Selsor, but say since they believe the shooting was accidental, they did not arrest the person.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Robert Selsor has a long history of burglary and larceny convictions out of Tulsa County, stemming back to 1993.
