Authorities say a convicted sex offender has struck again.
A man who pleaded guilty to having child pornography in Tulsa last year is back behind bars.
Travis McClain is now charged with rape, accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl.
McClain was given probation for his Tulsa conviction after promising not to repeat his mistakes, but yet, it has happened again.
McClain, 25, was working at Key Elementary last year when his mother found pictures of naked children on his cell phone and called police.
Records show McClain admitted texting with two students at the school, as well as taking a picture of a 12-year-old student and forwarding that picture to a pedophile friend of his.
They say he admitted saving the naked pictures after doing a Google search.
McClain pleaded guilty to child porn and told his case worker, "I will follow all the recommendations and requirements pertaining to the case. There was not a time that I made the same mistake twice. I will work on paying off my debt and staying away from any content online or otherwise to make sure this does not happen again, I will change a lot of different things to stay away from such things."
He was given a five-year suspended sentence with no jail time.
The judge, case worker and prosecutor didn't know that while McClain was promising to be good on that charge, he was already working on a new one in another county.
Pawnee County investigators say McClain was having sex with a 15-year-old girl last fall, before he was ever sentenced in the child porn case.
Records show the girl admitted they had sex twice.
Records show her parents were worried about her seeing someone nine years older and warned McClain she was only 15. They were shocked to learn he was a sex offender and pressed charges.
McClain was arrested last week on two counts of second-degree rape.
Police are investigating another girl's accusation that he tried to have sex with her, too.
Some say this isn't a shock, because McClain's pre-sentence report says he showed a sexual interest in female children under the age of 14, but didn't believe he needed counseling to control his sexual impulses.
The Tulsa detective who worked the child porn case in Tulsa said he will be talking to the prosecutors to try to get McClain's probation revoked, so he has to spend the next four-and-a-half years of his five-year prison term behind bars.
McClain has only been charged with the rape case for now.
It is ongoing.
