Some Oklahomans are heading out for the American Hero Ride.

Area motorcyclists are making the journey from Tulsa to Memphis to raise awareness for America's servicemen and women.

The group adds riders along the way.

When they get to Memphis, they'll head to a Veteran's Affairs hospital to throw a heroes party.

"We take a live band, do a cookout for the veterans and go through the chambers of the hospital and pass out medals of appreciation and goodies that we've collected through the year," rider Rick Zickefoose said.

The riders will stop in Little Rock on Friday and head on to Memphis on Saturday.
