EMSA Agrees To Audit After Pressure From Tulsa City Council

EMSA said it has agreed to an audit of its finances.

Tulsa's City Council all but demanded an audit of the ambulance service's billing policies and travel expenses last month during a meeting on Wednesday.

"We welcome the opportunity," Steve Williamson, EMSA chief executive officer, said in a statement. "We want to keep the public's trust that we have earned over the last 30 years."

An outside firm will do the audit. EMSA is first going to see how much time and money it would take for the state auditor to look at the company's books.
