Dennis Mahon was convicted of sending a mail bomb to a black city official in Arizona. Prosecutors called it an "act of domestic terrorism", meant to promote hate and racism.

Mahon ran for Tulsa mayor in 1998.

An active member of the White Aryan Resistance movement and the KKK, he was also investigated during the Oklahoma City bombing, after bragging about knowing Timothy McVeigh and calling him a hero.
