A second grader at Maryetta School in Stilwell was surprised by Google officials Wednesday.
Janessa Chastain, 8, is a finalist for the national Doodle 4 Google contest.
Doodle 4 Google challenged students all over the country to redesign the Google logo.
Chastain's Doodle is titled, "Japan – Land of Cherry Blossoms." She says, "If I could travel in time, I'd visit Japan, the Land of Cherry Blossoms. I would like to go to a Cherry Blossom celebration and learn about Japanese culture, customs and people."
Oklahomans can vote until May 10, 2012 for Chastain's doodle to become the national finalist at http://www.google.com.
This is the second year in a row a Maryetta School student has made the finalist list. Last year, 9-year-old Katie Stephenson was a finalist in the "Doodle 4 Google National Art Competition."
