Several Highways Closed After Storm Tears Through NE Oklahoma

Recent rains have left behind a host of road closures around Green Country. Heavy rains have even caused a bridge collapse on Highway 11 at Big Creek, 16 miles west of Welch.

As of 3 p.m., the following highways are closed due to conditions resulting from heavy rain:

Craig County
SH-10 west of Welch

Grant County
SH-11 east and west of Medford
US-81 between the Oklahoma/Kansas border and Pond Creek

Kay County
US-77 south of Tonkawa

Nowata County
SH-10 east of US-169 near Lenapah

Osage County
SH-18 north of Fairfax

Drivers are urged to be alert to changing conditions and are advised against driving into standing water on roadways.
