Residents of the Sundance Apartments at 31st Street and Riverside Drive in Tulsa were awakened early Saturday morning to see their cars on fire.

The call went out just after 1 a.m. At least three cars were completely destroyed, including a Sand Springs Police vehicle. A Sand Springs police officer lives in one of the units.

A resident coming home saw the burning cars and immediately alerted neighbors. He told News On 6 that he saw gas containers on the ground next to the cars and then a small explosion.

Tulsa fire crews quickly arrived and had the fire, which was spreading to a nearby tree, out in just minutes.

There were no injuries, and none of the units were damaged. The fire appeared to be intentional and random, according to witnesses.

Police and fire investigators were at the scene for several hours.
