After previously denying him a full release, Jordan Clarkson and the University of Tulsa have agreed to a nearly full release to all but a limited number of schools. The university originally stated that it would not be releasing Clarkson fully from his scholarship.
"We wish nothing but the best for Jordan and his family as Jordan continues his bright career at another school," TU athletic Director Ross Parmley said in a press release. "I am happy that the two sides could come to an agreement that is suitable for both parties."
Clarkson started all 31 games for the Golden Hurricane in 2011-2012, finishing second on the team in scoring with 16.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. The junior announced his transfer after the hiring of new head coach Danny Manning.
"The Clarkson family appreciates the opportunity to sit down with Athletic Director Ross Parmley and come to an agreement that is suitable to both parties so that we can move forward in a positive manner, and one in which both parties maintain credibility and a reputation," Jordan's father, Mike Clarkson, said in a press release. "Jordan really appreciates The University of Tulsa and the Tulsa community for their support of him and the Golden Hurricane during his two years at TU."
There have been no official reports to possibilities for his destination school.
