Firefighters extinguished a fire at a house in Tulsa early Sunday morning.

According to the Tulsa Fire Department, crews responded to the fire just before 6 a.m. at a house, located in the 1500 block of W. Bowen.

Officials say firefighters saw smoke coming out of the home as they arrived. They also found two people on the lower section of the roof. According to fire officials, the two had tried to crawl out of a second story window to safety.

Police say the two were house-sitting for the owner of the home.
