Tulsa's Free Landfill Days Continue Sunday

It's Free Landfill Days this weekend, and you can get rid of unwanted items and it won't cost a thing.

You will have to prove you're a Tulsa resident by showing either a driver's license or Tulsa utility bill.

The Quarry Landfill is located at 13740 East 46th Street North. There are two landfills on East 46th Street, so look for the Quarry Waste Management Inc. signs.

The landfill will be open Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and city officials warn that it will close promptly. Tulsans should show up as early in the day as possible, because lines are typical.

You cannot dump items containing Freon refrigerant (air conditioners and refrigerators). There will be a $2 fee for each discarded tire, which will cover state fees for the disposal and recycling of tires.

Your loads should be secured and covered to prevent contents from blowing out onto roadways and creating traffic hazards.
