Some of Oklahoma's Own are headed south of the Red River to help with disaster relief efforts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Six volunteers with the Tulsa Red Cross left Saturday morning.

They'll be working side-by-side with other Red Cross volunteers who are helping residents recover from a string of devastating tornadoes that raked the area earlier this week.

About 300 homes were damaged or destroyed, but there were only around a dozen reports of injuries - most of them, minor.
