More than a dozen railroad crossings in Tulsa will be impacted beginning Monday, April 9, 2012 as a contractor removes railroad tracks.

The crossings impacted will be in an area bounded by Independence on the north, Fulton on the west, 15th Street on the south and 73rd East Avenue on the east.

City of Tulsa officials say not all streets will be closed at the same time.

Starting Monday, the work will begin on East Independence, just west of Hudson and move south and then east towards East 13th Street near 73rd East Avenue.

The railroad track removal is expected to take about two weeks.

Officials add the weather will play a factor in the removal process, so drivers should be prepared for closings changes.
