Guts Church Asks For Gag Order In Boxing Death Suit

Attorneys representing GUTS Church asked a Tulsa County Judge Tuesday to issue a gag order in the George Clinkscale case.

George Clinkscale died after an unsanctioned boxing match held at the church in September of last year.

The Clinkscale family filed a lawsuit against the GUTS Church in October, alleging it violated state regulations, including not providing medical care at ringside.

The motion filed Tuesday asks the court to bar participants from talking to the media until the conclusion of the case.

ESPN had requested permission to speak with University of Tulsa employees who had treated Clinkscale during his time at TU. Also, the defense attorneys have been contacted by various media requesting interviews.

The judge will hear the motion April 11, 2012. The judge will also hear arguments about the defense's motion to dismiss the case.
