A 16-month-old Dewey girl who suffered "severe water burns" over 30 percent of her body has been released from a Kansas hospital and is in the custody of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services.
Dewey Police Chief Mike Shea says the toddler's condition has improved since she was flown by helicopter to a Wichita hospital in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the toddler's mother, 23-year-old Danielle Conner, remains in the Washington County jail on a $50,000 bond.
