A Red Flag warning is in effect for all of central Oklahoma and some counties in eastern Oklahoma Thursday due to strong southerly winds, high temperatures and low humidity across the state.
Tulsa, Okmulgee, Wagoner, Creek, Rogers and Nowata counties are included in the Red Flag warning.
News 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone said Oklahoma will see the most extreme grass and brush fire threat of the season.
"Dry vegetation combined with low relative humidity may result in a fast fire spread condition across the state," said Alan Crone.
