The Tulsa City Council is holding a public meeting Wednesday evening to answer questions about the new proposed trash contract.
The meeting is at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the second floor of Tulsa City Hall at the corner of 2nd and Cincinnati.
Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett, the city council and the Tulsa Authority for Recovery of Energy (TARE) Board will all be at the meeting to answer any questions about the new contract which takes effect on July 1, 2012.
Council chairman G.T. Bynum says this public hearing is an effort to keep the citizens informed.
"While the Council will not have a say in the final trash contract, we do have the ability to get answers for our constituents on the facts related to the proposal," said G.T. Bynum. "Tulsans deserve unbiased information on their trash service."
Bynum added this hearing will not only cover questions and concerns about the use of trash carts, but also anything else related to the upcoming change in the trash contract.
The meeting will be broadcast live on Cox digital cable channel 24.1 and will stream live at http://tgovonline.org/.
