ODOT says six bridge decks and all the pavement will be replaced along the four mile stretch of I-244 from Memorial to the I-244/I-44 split.
"No. I stay away from it. I don't trust the bridges. The streetsare just tore apart. Construction will make it worse and now because people aregoing to have a hard time getting to work," said driver David Broussard.
If you drive this section of I-244 you should expect lane and ramp closures throughout the project.
Monday, crews closed the left lane and inside shoulder of eastbound I-244. It will be closed just west of Memorial to Highway 169.
A highway headache for drivers.
"I think it will help once it's done but I don't think people in the meantime will like it very much," Broussard said.
Drivers areurged to plan ahead for extra travel time in the corridor, especially peopleheaded to the airport.
NewsOn6.com's Daily Detour will have updates on the project.
